ABOUT US
A companion in faith for over 70 years
Since 1953, The Lutheran Digest has brought encouragement, inspiration and a little humor to readers across the country. Shared free through local churches and made possible by businesses in each community, it has been a quiet, steady companion for generations of readers.
Our story
The Lutheran Digest was founded in 1953 and, over the decades, has been lovingly carried forward by a small line of faithful stewards. Most recently, Wayne and Jan Husom led the Digest from 2010 to 2026.
Today, the Digest is in the hands of Jeff and Amanda Smith, a Minnesota pastor and his wife, with the same simple hope: to keep it just as its readers love it, and to share it with even more churches and readers in the years ahead.
Passing the Digest forward: Jan Husom with Jeff and Amanda Smith and Jan’s son, Bill.
